Adventurous Group!

This post features student writing.

The next morning, we were lucky enough to sleep in and wake up to a beautiful crystal clear ocean view. Some of us were brave enough to take an early morning dip, while others preferred to take in the views from afar.

After a beachside meal of eggs and toast, everyone jumped into the ocean one last time before boarding the bus to our next adventure. Swimming in the ocean was a perfect start to a great day!

Our amazing bus driver, Alexis, drove us about an hour and a half to “The Smallest River in the World,” a river connecting a spring and the ocean at only 300 feet. The river was filled with laughing people swimming, dancing and kayaking in the water. The water was freezing cold especially compared to the warm ocean water we enjoyed that morning. Despite the cold water, Connor, Milan, Andrew, Jared, and some of our local friends were not hesitant to jump in anyway.

All of this swimming got us hungry, so we ventured back to the bus en route to pizza. Alexis graciously took a detour in Barahona for a pizza lunch with our local friends. The pizza crust was incredible, by the way! By the time we got to the village we were all exhausted. The girls retreated to our room and had some quality bonding time.

Our word of the day for this Sunday was “Adventurous!”

Eng: ADVENTUROUS
Spa: AVENTUROSO
/ədˈvɛntʃ(ə)rəs/
adjective

From watching a beautiful sunrise and spotting flamingos on the beach in the morning, to swimming in the freezing yet incredibly clear water, we truly felt like we were taking in all of the adventure that the Dominican Republic had to offer.

Besos!
